What is Fumed Silica?

Fumed silica is a high-purity, nano-scale form of amorphous silicon dioxide, commonly used as a multi-functional additive to improve rheology, anti-settling, thixotropy, thickening, and reinforcement properties across various applications including adhesives, sealants, coatings, silicones, insulation materials and powders.

CISIL Hydrophilic Grades

Chemion AG offers a full portfolio of hydrophilic fumed silica produced by flame hydrolysis. These grades are synthetic, amorphous, and optimized for dry powders, resin systems, silicones and technical fluids:

CISIL R 139 – PMDS Treated

Designed for epoxy resins, silicone rubbers, cable gels, greases, and transparent systems.

- Excellent anti-sagging in epoxy formulations
- No crepe hardening in silicone elastomers
- High free-flow performance in powder blends

CISIL R 151 – DDS Treated

Optimized for transparent systems and thermoset applications with low carbon content.
